Our Story
Chiaroscuro Studio is a New York-based film photography practice founded by Talia and Sawyer Bush.
We shoot on medium format and 35mm film—exclusively analogue, by choice. The grain, the warmth, the slight imperfection of a film photograph isn't incidental to what we do; it's the point. Film slows the process down in a way that tends to make the work more rooted and genuine and the experience more natural and intentional.
Our approach is documentary and editorial. We're drawn to candid moments over constructed ones. We work closely with our subjects before every shoot to understand not just the logistics but the feeling they're after—and we build our sessions around that.
We shoot weddings, engagements, and portraits in New York and beyond.
